Picture
My background is in teaching adults basic and advanced reading and writing skills for over 20 years, so I have a rich history working with learners. I have found that we are all learners in some way, and I approach my clients with an understanding of how, why, and what motivates to us to grow and change. I have earned a Master of Arts in Language and Literacy, in 2005, and a Master of Social Work in 2020, both from UGA. I plan to earn my LMSW to be provisionally licensed in Georgia and am under supervision by an LCSW currently.

I work with older teens and adults who experience:
  • anxiety
  • mild depression
  • low self-esteem
  • feelings of being stuck, stressed, or disconnected
  • relationship difficulties
  • gender and sexual identity conflict
  • trauma
  • life changes and adjustments to college, graduate school, parenting, etc.
  • religious/spirituality conundrums and curiosities

My goal is to collaborate with my clients to achieve their personal and therapeutic goals. Along the way, I focus on supporting clients from a strengths-based perspective and remain client-centered. In my practice I use evidence-based interventions (such as: CBT, narrative therapy, expressive arts) and trauma-informed mindfulness practices. I have a background in psycho-education (understanding the patterns of thought/feelings/actions to make a change), somatic (body) awareness, spirituality, in order to work toward uniting the mind, body, and spirit to help clients live the life they are called to live.

I offer safe space for all people to heal. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, and I take this role very seriously both professionally and personally. It is important to me that I hold space for my clients to share their story, to be heard, to find their voice, and to experience authentic well-being. I do offer Christian-based support upon request; however, I honor all religious expressions of faith and spirituality.
