Heather Hastie
I'm Heather, and I'm so happy to be here at ACCPT working with children and families. I'm a licensed master social worker with Babies Can’t Wait and a psychotherapist in private practice, and I'm also certified by the state of Georgia as an Early Intervention Specialist. I'm trained in play therapy, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, Trauma-Focused CBT, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and Circle of Security, and I have over 20 years of experience working with families experiencing a diverse array of challenges. These include trauma, reunification after incarceration or foster care, addiction, toxic stress, medical issues, abuse, and grief.
In addition to my work in private practice and Early Intervention, I also serve bereaved children through Kate's Club and support mothers through Athens Parent Wellbeing. In these roles, I provide therapy and facilitate support groups, offering specialized guidance to children coping with loss and mothers navigating the challenges of parenting while prioritizing their own mental health. My work in these areas complements my broader focus on family well-being, providing a comprehensive approach to emotional healing and support.
