Hailey Garfinkel

My name is Hailey Garfinkel. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Social Work with a Marriage and Family Therapy certificate at the University of Georgia in preparation to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Play Therapist. I received my Human Development and Family Sciences degree with a Disability Studies certificate for my undergraduate studies, also at the University of Georgia.
          In my free time, I like to relax or work out. A fun fact about me is that in March 2020, I created a program that is still running, called “Hailey’s Healthy Hangouts” for people of all abilities, where we work out, hang out, express our feelings, and do fun activities via ZOOM.
           I am particularly looking forward to working with children and individuals of all ages with disabilities as well as with their families. After many years of experience gathered through working within the disability community, I have seen the importance of mental health and emotional awareness. Working with me will ensure a safe space that will become a place of empowerment for your children. They will learn how to understand their emotions and express their feelings in a way that will facilitate life changing, positive interactions within the family unit and beyond. I am extremely excited and proud to have my internship with Athens Therapy Co-op through May 2023.
